The UW-Superior women’s hockey team couldn’t get their offense going in a 1–0 loss to UW-Stevens Point. The loss to the Pointers ended their season. The Yellowjackets and Pointers played even through three periods as neither team was able to break through until the final minute of the game. Pointer junior Megan Menotti buried an unassisted powerplay goal to break the scoreless tie. The Jakcets were unable to put on past Pointer goaltender Janna Beilke-Skoug. The Yellowjackets were 0–2 on the powerplay while the penalty kill managed to kill off four of the five Steven’s Point powerplays.
Yellowjackets senior goaltender ended her career stopping 29 shots. She compiled a career record of 37–21-12. Peters was credited with a goal back on November 15. The rarity makes her the first women’s goalie in the program’s history to score a goal. Pointer goaltender Bielke-Skoug stopped all 21 UWS shots.
Dani Schultz led the Jackets in scoring in the 2013–14 season in scoring. Schultz, a junior, scored 12 goals and added 15 assists for a total of 27 points. Karen Larson was second on the team with 23 points notching 11 goals and 12 assists.
The women’s hockey team graduates a total of six seniors this season. The Yellowjackets finish thier season with a 14–7-6 record and a 4–4-4 record in the WIAC conference.
