Students get their Flu shots in the YU.
Walgreen’s pharmacy set up a Student Flu Shot Clinic Tuesday October 8th in the YU and gave out free flu shots to the first 75 students. After the first 75 students and non students were only $25.99 for a shot.
Around this time every year, people across the country wonder why they need to get a flu shot. The flu is most prevalent in the times between October to May and can be spread by coughing, sneezing, and close contact with another infected with the virus. This is an important thing to remember because colleges are a playground for germs of all kind due to the many interactions students have on a daily basis.
Flu Symptoms can include but are not limited to: fever, sore throat, muscle aches, fatigue, cough, runny nose, and headache. The flu can also lead to pneumonia, and if you have an existing medical condition, it has the possibility to make it worse.
If you have any concerns about it the shot, give your doctor a call and talk about it with them. The flu shot is the best protection against the flu virus and it’s complications so it is recommended to get yours as soon possible before the sickness spreads and students miss too many days of classes.
