UWS Career Services helped some students strut their stuff on the catwalk as they put on a fashion show with Mainstream Fashions for Men and Maurices. This is all in preparation for the Head of the Lakes Job Fair taking place February 13th. The job fair is a way for students to get in contact with business and help them make the transition between the educational and professional worlds.
Career services offers tools and resources to students seeking to enter the job market with every advantage possible. They offer things like the Career Closet, which contains clothing designed to work well in an interview and is all free and available to check out for students. Other things offered by them are the ability to have mock interviews and as well as pad folders that help students organize items related to an interview such as resumes and business cards.
The Job Fair offers a way for students to get out professionally. Employment opportunities will be presented by business at the fair that are hiring such as Cirrus Aircraft and TLC.
Career Services encourages students to stop by their booths and see about strutting their way into the work world or you can stop by their office in YU 230 or e-mail them at firstname.lastname@example.org.
